About
My father was a sculptor and as a child, he insisted that I sign my art. In his memory, I decided to sign these plugins.
For years I compared gear — arranging demos, testing things out, visiting studios. I’d use something a while, then move on to something else. Certain concepts would stick with me, even when the gear didn’t.
Eventually I started getting ideas for processors. I have a love for analog gear, so I started to learn analog equipment design. When I tried to create a processor, I’d make them in software first. Really simple stuff — a filter, a mid/side converter.
Eventually, I came up with the Precision Post Analog Controller, which became part of my workflow at the studio. If I found a bug or a feature I wanted, I’d make a note and work on it. Some things panned out, some didn’t. It kept evolving that way.
These plug-ins were a way of pushing boundaries and exploring. The PPAC and Audio Calibration Tool were my first creations while learning the fundamentals of DSP and useability-focused GUI design. The Blumlein-Haas Spatializer helped me to build on the fundamentals and now I’ve started with much more complex DSP algorithms.
